n8n Self-Hosted Ops
The unglamorous half of self-hosting: exports, update records, safety scans and documented restores.

The problem
Standing up a self-hosted automation platform is the easy part. Upgrading it, backing it up, and proving a restore works are what determine whether it survives.
Why it mattered
An automation platform quietly becomes production infrastructure. When it holds real workflows, an undocumented restore path is an outage waiting for a date.
What I built
An operations repository holding workflow exports, update records, safety scans and restore documentation — the operational record that makes the platform maintainable by someone other than its author.
What I learned
Backups are a belief until a restore is rehearsed. Operational documentation is not overhead; it is the difference between a system and a liability.
