Authority boundary — approval is structural, not a convention

The problem

Running several businesses and product lines meant decisions were scattered across inboxes, dashboards and chat threads, while the automation capable of acting on them had no safe place to propose work and wait for a decision.

Why it mattered

Giving autonomous agents direct authority over real operations is how automation quietly does damage. The alternative — doing everything by hand — wastes the capability entirely.

What I built

A command center that separates preparation from action. Agents gather context and draft the work; a human reviews and approves; only then does an approved workflow execute. Approval is a structural boundary in the system, not a convention.

What I learned

Constraint is a design decision, not a limitation. An agent should have the authority it needs to be useful — not unlimited authority simply because the technology permits it.
